Do I need to remove more data, or to reformat the whole disk and partition the disk. You cant partition, and once installed there isnt room for Windows,.you need 9GB for SP1 update, page file, hibernation, programs, data, cache, temp.
GB suggests more the size of an SSD, not a hard drive. Windows 7 64-bit uses 35GB for me and I really keep most things on another hard drive, and that doesnt take into account temp etc I mentioned above. Upgrade hard drive are a DIY for most, and kits come with spare external to put the old drive in. It only takes 12 minutes, so try this simple trick first I had the same problem with Snow Leopard (although not with Leopard). Trying To New Game On Steam Says Not Enough Disk Space Free Space AndSo I cleared 50GB of free space and still got the not enough space error. I defragged using iDefrag (30 and 3 hours) and then got the some files cannot be moved error. But thanks to a tip elsewhere, I booted off my Snow Leopard install disk (hold the C key as you boot until the lanuage selection screen appears.) From the Utilities menu on the install screen choose Disk Utility, then Repair Disk. What else can I try Im especially confused because I used Boot Camp once before to install Windows XP but then deleted the partition when I didnt want it anymore. Why, though I have 25GB free and have repaired the disk multiple times, is Boot Camp still telling me that I dont have enough space. Running Mountain Lion on a MacBook Pro 15 and I have the same problem. After 8 hours of trying i had an idea and creating and deleting a partition worked spot on.
